Tips For Following Hyperlinks

When you receive a link sent to you in an e-mail message, or if you click a link that is mentioned in an online article,
if the link does not work "as is," for example...

try a shortened version of it.  Meaning, eliminate the "http://" for sure,
and then drop the right most portion of the address up to and including the "/"

www.vinylsiding.org/install <http://www.vinylsiding.org/install

This is the address of the page that the originally mentioned link stems from, and you should hopefully be able to find the link referred to, providing the portion dropped (/installfaq.html) is not too cryptic and is somewhat descriptive of what you intended to find.

In this example, you are looking for an FAQ on siding installation.
(What's an FAQ? A compilation of Frequently Asked Questions.)

If that doesn't work, try an even more shortened version.
Dropping the remaining right most portion up to and including the / in this case leaves the root domain address...

www.vinylsiding.org <http://www.vinylsiding.org

This is the ultimate location for referencing the original link...

Finally, if you are sure of a link's spelling accuracy, and you receive a "cannot find" or "DNS error," don't give up,
try a couple refreshes of the  link request. ( press F5 or click refresh tool button, or click View | Refresh)

It is possible that the web page, or the website, or the web host hosting the website, or the web itself was not completely ready to accept and properly deal with your request.
