Answers, Tips & Information

Did you know that the Internet was originally developed by scientists and the Pentagon as a “Doomsday” telephone system to be used in rebuilding the world after World War III?  Information is sent over a network in packets of information through many different computers over many different routes.  The idea was that if one of these computers was knocked out of commission, the others would still be online, connected and able to deliver the info packets.  With the end of the Cold War and the break up of the Soviet Union, the internet was let loose by the scientists and now we can all use it to send email, browse web and download free software.

Speaking of free software, check out HotSend at www.hotsend.com.  This free program makes it easy to email anything to anyone. Now you can send your buyer that Property Listing Synopsis, right from inside T-lll.  HotSend converts the Synopsis into a rich, full color format optimized for email attachment. It combines the document with HotSend's free Microviewer-the only software needed to view and print a HotSend document-to create a "portable" document that can be opened by anyone! Whoever receives your message just double-clicks on the attachment and the free HotSend Microviewer opens and the document is displayed ready to be viewed and printed. Your attachment looks and prints just like the original, but the receiver doesn't need to own, buy, download, or install anything!

Thinking about adding a dedicated telephone line for your computer so you won't miss important phone calls? Think again! Now, you can surf the Internet on your single phone line without worrying about missing important calls. That's because the FREE Internet Answering Machine from CALLWAVE makes it possible to hear who's calling while you are surfing the Web! The Internet Answering Machine works with the Busy Call Forwarding feature of your phone line to answer calls while you are online. Once activated, callers no longer get annoying busy signals when you are online. Instead, callers will hear a brief CallWave greeting after which they can leave a short message at the tone--that you will be able to hear instantly!  It takes less than five minutes to install and it’s FREE at www.callwave.com.
